About the Artist
Shawn Escott was born in Ohio and lived in South Florida for the majority of his adult life. He graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and studied for a short time at the Lyme Academy of Art in Connecticut. His major influences are the Impressionists, Plein Air Painters of America and many contemporary artists working today.
Shawn is an award-winning artist, most notably having won first place at Plein Fun Fest in 2016. In 2018, he was invited to participate in the world-renowned Forgotten Coast Paint Out as a Florida Ambassador. His work has been shown at Sotheby's International Realty, the Boca Raton Museum, The Cornell Museum, The Butler Museum, and many exhibitions throughout South Florida.
Shawn has taught art classes at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Old School Square Art School in Delray Beach, and The New Studio for the Visual Arts in Jupiter. He also holds workshops and gives painting demonstrations for prestigious art institutions around South Florida.
In 2020, during the pandemic, Shawn renewed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
